40 Book Challenge

I didn't really enjoy the 40 book challenge.

That was blunt... But the reason is, is that I didn't really think of it as a real objective, I thought of the Challenge as more of, I can't really explain. It's kind of like, I'll do it, but my motivation is not the Challenge, it's because I want to read the books, you're not making me do it and I'm not doing this for you. My real motivation was the book itself, not the challenge that I must complete. The books that I read, are actually interesting. Take my word for it, I'm a pretty trustworthy guy, pretty trustworthy. (Emphasizing "pretty" because I'm not all that trustworthy, honestly... Ha...) If anything motivated me more to read the books was, ultimately, my grades, and Blogger.

Although this isn't the main reason why I read books, I still think it took a role in it. To do your blog about books, isn't it reasonable to read the book first? That kind of made me read books, to do my homework, which is, a great big part of my life. I still want to read the books only because the books are entertaining, but Blogger is just another motivation that comes with reading the books. I wanted others to know what a good book is. I don't want them to read a book that I would use as a sleeping tool. I want to give them a really interesting book, Rot and Ruin for example. My friend, let's call him Bob, Bob read Rot and Ruin, a book that I've done a Blog on, and he really enjoys it. I want to enjoy the books, I'm not going to do something that I completely hate.

Although I didn't exactly enjoy the 40 Book Challenge, I'm still pretty proud of it.

I love that you mention you are not reading the books for me. That is exactly it! You are reading for you and that is the very essence of the challenge -- to get you reading!:)

  2. I liked how you said that you were reading for yourself and only yourself. I also liked how you said that you didn't enjoy the challenge but you are still proud of it. Great job!

  4. It's really cool how you were honest with how you thought about the challenge. I also like how you included pictures of some of the books that you've read. Also, it's nice how you talked about your motivation for the 40 book challenge, which was mostly homework and blogger.

  5. I understand what you mean when you say you want to read for your own enjoyment. I think that is one of the problems with the 40 Book Challenge, you're expected to read books you normally wouldn't want to read. I feel that it was a difficult thing getting out of my comfort zone to read something I otherwise would not.

  6. I like your reflection. It was cool that you weren't reading for anyone else, just for yourself. I also liked how you put pictures of your books.
