SPOILER ALERT!!!
My least favorite character would most definitely be, the horrible, stupid, Ron Weasley. Hermione would be a close second being the know-it-all character but her character development throughout the series makes her very like-able, especially since she cares so much about her friends but then she dates the horrible, Ron Weasley. Ron was, no, is the most useless character throughout the thing. The only part when he was actually pretty helpful was in the first book where he takes out the troll and completes the game of chess. Ignoring those two times that he actually helped out he doesn't do anything at all in the other books other than almost getting Harry in trouble. He also starts getting mad at Harry just for being famous, stupid isn't it?My most favorite character, (aside from Harry since he's the protagonist) would be Sirius Black. Sirius just seemed so cool and strong when they first introduced him. Making him survive in Azkaban and staying sane although he was framed. But the most amazing part about Sirius is that he's Harry's grandfather. His grandfather! I know that you shouldn't like somebody just because of connections but there's also nothing to hate about Sirius. He changed the plot line in some way because he's a new character and we get to meet him regularly through out the series but the real reason I like him is because he said something that could change the book drastically. Sirius asked if Harry wanted to live with him. Although this didn't happen it's still a nice thought to have. There are some other things that made me like Sirius too. Like the fact that he cares so much about Harry even though he's on a run from the most dangerous prison in the wizarding world, he still wants to get in touch with Harry.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire creates such a drastic affect to the Harry Potter series. This is the part of the book when everything changes. Harry Potter somehow got picked into the TriWizard tournament where 3 schools battle each other in competitions. There is only supposed to be 3 competitors, Harry was the 4th. A 4th champion wasn't supposed to exist, which leads Harry Potter to be hated more through out the series.
Harry Potter wasn't supposed to be chosen as the 4th champion nor there wasn't supposed to be a 4th champion to begin. Although Harry didn't do anything, anything at all, Harry was accused of somehow getting into the tournament. This changes Harry's popularity and the way that other people see him. Nearing the end you can sense that this is all someone's diabolical scheme. Anyways, Harry had to go through all of these challenges but at the end something happened that would change the series forever.
When Harry was doing the final challenge he was taken to a place. A place where something dramatic was going to happen. A place where the conflict takes place. A place where Voldemort resurrects. Voldemort resurrects which ultimately leads to the final battle. This book is a must read containing all of it's detail and the actual topic and idea of the story is just pure amazing.
I thought it was a good blog. You wrote good reasons why you liked and disliked certain characters. I read this book before. I liked it. You described the events that happen well because you said how they connect to each other.
ReplyDeleteI thought that this blog was interesting. I really would like to read the Harry Potter series one day. The books are so long! I really liked how you explained the characters int heir own different ways. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteI have read all the Harry Potter books (when I was in second grade) and I can say this: Ron is not useless! He was one of my favorite characters! Anyway, this was a very interesting blog post. It was nice to be reminded of one of the best series of books ever, and I can agree that Sirius is just the best. This was also my favorite Harry Potter book.
ReplyDeleteI believe I myself have to disagree with you Nadrian, Hermione in my opinion is not a know-it-all. I believe a know-it-all purposely flaunts their probably nonexistent knowledge in front of others. Meanwhile Hermione Granger is a true feminist. If it weren't for Hermione, there probably wouldn't even be a Sirius Black. It was Hermione's time turner that had helped save Sirius' life. If Hermione weren't a "know-it-all" she wouldn't have the time turner. As for Ron I have to agree that he is a bit dim witted, but he isn't all that bad. I'd also like to correct you on the fact that Sirius is Harry's godfather, not grandfather. I myself though have to admit the Goblet of Fire was, and is my favorite book in the series, I must also be honest and say that I cried when Cedric Diggory died.
ReplyDeleteWait, just to let you know you agreed that Hermione IS a know-it-all in this sentence, "If Hermione weren't a "know-it-all" she wouldn't have the time turner."
DeleteI believe Sirus is also the best character in the Goblet of Fire he seems to be the strongest one in the whole book especially when he handles the challenges. I also agree with Isabelle R Ron isnt useless!
ReplyDeleteI loved reading all your responses and sticking up for your characters!
