Prompt: Describe the main characters
***MINIMUM SPOILER ALERTS IF YOU'VE READ HUNGER GAMES***
I actually thought about the prompt today since I've only read like 1/10 of the book so I had to choose a prompt that shows something from the previous books that I've read.
I'll start with the weird main character, Katnip or Katniss. Katniss as you all know is the main character of the Hunger Games, and Catching Fire. She seems to be this perfect girl who wants to protect her family and offers herself as tribute and everything else (Don't forget she killed like 6 people.).
As you can tell I'm not such a big fan of that character and from what I've read so far, she seems to be your average girl in love with someone but has to fake love someone else. Nothing different from the average celebrities. But the next character is actually my favorite character.
Haymitch! The man who saved Katnip's life like 3 times in the Hunger Games. Haymitch seems to be your everyday drunkard but when you get to know him and actually get him to like you, he saves your life. Haymitch is pretty much Katnip's helper and the only person Katnip can talk to. The next character is also a character that I do not like, in fact you can say that I hate this character.
Peeta... Dude, you're getting saved by Katnip, and you tried to kill the girl that saved your life. You chose wrong. In the Hunger Games, when the Games have actually started Peeta joined a "Team" in the Hunger Games that tried to kill Katnip, and Katnip was still nice enough to save someone who wouldn't even try to stop killing you. That's the reason why I hate Katnip so much. Her feelings are so unrealistic, why would you try to kill someone who tried to kill you.
Nice job. These descriptions help me imagine the characters better.
ReplyDeleteI love this book. Going to see the movie but i love how you describe all of the character. Especially Haymitch. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read this book! I love how you describe the characters it was really interesting. Do you think that there's some similarities with the first Hunger Games?
ReplyDeleteIt seems to me that you still are not finished with this book. I did have some bad feelings in the beginning of the book but later I have come to love it! Just keep reading. I over how you made this blog post funny though. Good job!
ReplyDeleteWhen ever I read your blog posts, I feel so conflicted. In some ways your absolutely correct, but other times you have theses ideas I simply can not fathom. I hope you take that as a compliment. I must agree with you on the Haymitch idea. I feel that others simply look at Haymitch as a ridicule, and most of the time as a drunk. People don't take the time to simply look at life though his eyes, what it would be like to fight in an arena, killing others for your life. The thought in my opinion is simply to unimaginable, and an inconceivable.
ReplyDeleteNadrian,
ReplyDeleteGreat blog this week! You are very opinionated! I think you did a great job telling us what you though of each character and why you like them, or why you don't like them, and I think all of your reasons for liking or not liking certain characters, are fair opinions! Though, I totally disagree with you, except for your opinion on Peeta! I love Katniss, can't stand Haymitch, and don't particularly like Peeta! Overall great blog this week, and I'm looking forward to reading more of your blogs on this book!
Was Peeta actually trying to kill Katniss? Read on....
