Holocaust Gallery Walk

This week, we had to choose an article that is related to the Holocaust. All of the articles differentiated, from survivor experiences to newly found information. The gallery walk was a great experience. I've gained a level of understanding from today's gallery walk. All making the Holocaust even more of a sensitive topic.
The article I have chosen was about the meeting of a Survivor and his Liberator. Avital, being the survivor, and Lewis, his liberator. The article focused on both men's experiences during the Second World War. But the article revolved around the experiences of Avital. He went through so many painful situations. He was forced to watch his family die right before his eyes. He was tortured and went on to starve to near death. He didn't eat anything for 8 full days until he was liberated. All of those events led to his gratitude to Lewis. Those experiences show how thankful he is to Lewis for keeping him alive. Avital expressed that gratitude in the meeting.
One of the more interesting articles that I noticed were the articles about the Nazi Doctor, Mengele. Mengele was a man who experimented on infants. He put children through torture. Torture.
Mengele believed that he could create a dominant species. He forced twins to mate because he believed that their blood would create a perfect German. He also created a test that experimented on how long an infant can survive without food. He put a baby through torture. There have also been stories, that Mengele attached 100 eyes on a wall. He treated them as prizes. Eyes...

  1. I enjoyed reading your blog. You write as if you are talking to the reader. You also emphasize certain details like torture and eyes. In my opinion, Mengele was extremely cruel person. I mean, who experiments on children, starving them, keeping their eyes for prizes. Overall, great blog.

  2. I've noticed you have a certain writing style that's different from others. It's really interesting reading what you have to say. When I first think of the Holocaust, I only thought that there were concentration camps. But there was much more. For example, I did not know that they performed medical experiments on infants. I was as surprised as you were. Great blog post!
