Prompt: What does this book remind you of?
Pages Read: Finished
I kind of think that this prompt is a pretty broad subject... What does this book remind you of? Well, the first thing that came up in my mind was the Percy Jackson books, since this is only just the sequel and all but I don't think that you can make a connection using another book so I moved onto a different thought (Yes, in my brain, thoughts are organized into lines.) I started picturing the old Greek days since, well, this book is based on Greek Mythology.
I hate this book... I hate this book since it makes reality look horrible in comparison. Action, comedy, romance, the greatest combination that has ever been created, I repeat, greatest combination. If you disagree with me, recommend me another book and be so kind as to let me be the judge of that. Well, despite what you may think that perfect combination in a book may be, that is only my opinion.
In my last blog about this book, I told you what this book was pretty much about. Well, now you know that it's pure awesomeness, I'll actually be spoiling a little bit onto you. The 7 heroes are finally reunited but then something happens. Something always has to happen when something good does happen. It's kind of predictable but it keeps that balance in the book. Leo was taken over by an eidolon and started shooting at the Romans. They managed to get away but then that angered the Romans. Then, they pretty much made a stupid decision. Other than making up with the Romans, they thought that the prophecy to save the world was more important... They followed that prophecy and had to find, the Athena Parthenon. They managed to find it but Percy and Annabeth get swallowed into monster hell. Yay.
Last year I remembered how people used to want this book all the time. It seems that every year everybody wants a certain book. At first I thought you liked this book but I do agree with you. An author has to choose whether they want a realistic or fantasy book. For example when I read It's Kind of a Funny Story the book is good but it just has too many spics of fantasy. Great Blog Post.
ReplyDeleteI can definitely understand how you tied this book to Percy Jackson series. Considering they're written by the same author, have a lot of the sam characters, I can understand how they're so similar(I read the book, too). When you say that you hate this book, do you really mean it? You say a bunch of great things about the book, but sometimes sarcasm is hard to identify in writing. Great blog!
